Want to demonstrate to a non-technical relative how to set up their email account without having to do the actual setup for them? Apple has made it simple to record the screen of your iPhone 12 without the need to install any third-party applications.
Screen recording comes in useful when you want to capture quick demonstrations or document a problem with your iPhone 12 or iPad. Depending on your preference, you may record in silence or with audio recorded by your iPhone’s internal microphone.

In most cases, taking a screenshot of your iPhone screen is a fast and simple procedure, and most people are familiar with the two keys that they must press in order to take a screenshot of their iPhone’s screen and store it in the Photos app. The majority of individuals, on the other hand, do not know how to capture a video of their iPhone screen.

Fortunately, the method of taking a screenshot of the iPhone’s screen is simple and straightforward. During the recording process, you may use your iPhone to open different applications, make choices, and generally do anything else with your phone that you would normally do. When you finish recording, the video is stored on your iPhone’s camera roll, where you may share it on social media, email it, or upload it just as you would any other kind of clip.

There are two things that you should keep in mind. First and foremost, you must activate the function by adding it to your Control Center before you can begin recording the screen of your iPhone 12. Second, the procedures for accessing the record button are dictated by the version of iOS that you are running; thus, be sure to follow the steps listed below in their proper order to avoid confusion.

I made a screen video of my iPhone 12 to show the fastest and most straightforward method of doing this. As it turns out, the majority of individuals are unsure of how to go about it.

In order to screen record on the iPhone 12, follow the steps below.

Setting up screen recording on iPhone 12

Despite the fact that screen recording is a straightforward and straightforward procedure, you must first add the screen recording icon to the Control Center on your iPhone before you can begin. To enable screen recording, go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls and check the box next to Enable screen recording. Screen Recording may be activated by pressing the plus sign (+) next to it. Swiping down from the top-right edge of your iPhone screen should reveal a Screen Record icon, which you can access by swiping down from the top-right edge of your iPhone screen.

The methods outlined in this tutorial will also work for the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, as well as other models.

You’re now ready to begin recording your session.

step 1:

First and foremost, we must ensure that the screen recording feature on our iPhone 12 is turned on and functioning properly (if we already have it we can go to point 5). It is possible to verify this by going to Settings, which is represented by the gear symbol that shows on the home screen of your Apple iPhone 12.

step 2:

We go down the left-hand menu until we reach the “Control Center” section, which we then choose by clicking on it and then on “Customize Controls.”

step 3:

We can reorder the controls in the “INCLUDE” area of our iPhone 12 if we already have the screen recording control enabled; we can do this by clicking on the three horizontal lines to the right of the control and dragging it up or down the list. By clicking on the red button on the left, we may also turn off the control completely.

step 4:

Even if the active control does not show, we may scroll down and it will appear in the “MORE CONTROLS” area; we can then add it by clicking on the green “+” button Add to panel icon. Once this step has been completed, we may leave the Apple iPhone 12 settings menu.

start recording on iPhone 12

step 1:

(Apple iPhone 7 and earlier, as well as iPad with iOS 11 or older) Swipe from the bottom of the screen to the top of the screen where you wish to start the video. (iPhone X, iPad with iOS 12 or iPad, and iPod touch 7) Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen where you want to start the video from the beginning of the film.

step 2:

Using the recording icon on your Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max without using the microphone will start a 3-second countdown, after which the recording will begin. A red line will appear at the top of the screen, along with the word “Recording,” indicating that everything that happens on the screen is being recorded.
Press and hold the button Record screen icon, then toggle the microphone on or off to record a video in addition to the sound from your iPhone 12 Pro Max screen (this is useful for explaining the operation of an app to a friend or recording a message while recording a video from your iPhone 12 Pro Max screen), and then press “Start recording” to begin recording your video from the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max screen.

step 3:

To stop recording, either open the Control Center (Point 5 of this lesson) and hit the stop recording button Recording screen icon, or click on the red line in the status bar at the top of the screen and press “Stop.” To start recording again, repeat the process.

How to Record Screen With Audio on iPhone 12?

Many times, you will have the need to capture both video and audio, such as when you are guiding someone through a process or explaining something. You must first activate your microphone in order to do this. In most cases, the procedures for screen recording with audio are the same as the ones for screen recording without audio. There is just one more step, which is described below.

If you want to record with the microphone as well, hold down the screen recording icon while doing so. There will be a pop-up window.

Tap on the mic to turn it on. Then tap on “Start Recording” to start the recording.

Locating and editing your recording

After you have finished filming, you may wish to edit the video that you have recorded. Video editing is very easy with Apple’s Photos application. It will be stored in the Camera App on your iPhone after you have finished recording. The recorded video will appear as the most recent item in the Photos app, which can be accessed by launching the app.
The process of editing a screen recording in the Photos app is the same as it is for editing any other video.
You have the option of editing the beginning or end of your recording. You have the option of trimming the video and saving it as a separate clip. However, the original video will remain unchanged, and you will get a fine-tuned version that you may share with anyone or wherever you choose.

To make changes to a screen recording, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the video in the camera roll
  2. Tap “ Edit.”
  3. Tap and drag the arrow at the beginning of the video to the right. It will turn into a yellow frame.
  4. Size the frame to trim the video down to just the section you want to retain. You can hit play at any given point to make sure you are satisfied with the output.
  5. Hit “Done” and then tap “Save as New Clip.”

What Limitations Are There for Recording Your Screen

You can’t record everything on your iPhone 12 because of the limited storage. The most significant limitation is that you are unable to record streaming applications such as Netflix, Disney+, or Amazon Prime Video. The reason for this is because otherwise, it would be easy to pirate the programs you’re watching, which would be in violation of the terms and regulations for using the service.

For the most part, though, you may record anything on your iPhone 12, even footage from video games that you are now playing on your device.

In addition to screen recordings, notifications and phone calls are recorded, so you may want to use Do Not Disturb mode anytime you are making a screen recording.
