Despite its worldwide reach, TikTok allows you to choose what you see and who sees you based on the area in which you are using the app. Even if your area has a large number of users, if your feed doesn’t include many great producers, you might consider changing your location.

Changing your area in TikTok is as simple as following these steps.

Method 1: Use a VPN

Using a virtual private network (VPN) to change your TikTok location is a popular choice. You may move your device’s location by using a Virtual Private Network. Although Express VPN is the most popular choice, there are others.

Even though using a VPN to alter your location doesn’t always work, this is an excellent trick to know how to use. This link will take you to a sign-up page where you can complete your registration. You’ll also have to get a smartphone and install the app. To move TikTok to a new location on your smartphone, follow these steps:

Use ExpressVPN on Android

  1. Download the ExpressVPN app. Then, sign in to the account you created using the link above.
  2. Tap on ‘Selected Location.’
  3. Tap on the Country or City of your choice.
  4. Next, tap the power icon at the top to activate your VPN.
  5. Open TikTok and view the content of your new location.

Method 2: Change Your Language

Since TikTok doesn’t suggest material in languages other than your own, as previously mentioned, you should avoid using it. Because of this, changing your language in the app is a cinch.

  1. Launch TikTok and select ‘Me’ in the lower right-hand corner.
  2. Tap on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. Select ‘Content Preferences’ under the Account section.
  4. Add the native language of the region you’re looking for.

If this doesn’t fix your TikTok area issue right away, you may have to try the techniques below to get TikTok to display you the material you want to view.

Method 3: Follow Different Creators

According to what we’ve seen thus far, TikTok will suggest videos depending on who you follow and what kinds of videos you engage with the most. Start following individuals in the area you’re interested in on the app now.

There is no search function on the TikTok website, but the app version has a magnifying glass called ‘Discover’ on the bottom left-hand side of the program, making it easy to find. In the search box, enter the names of the most popular people in the area you’d want to see.

Click the ‘Follow’ button in the red circle. In the image above, you’ll notice that this author has 43.3 million followers. Tap that number to get more information. Follow the accounts you find as you browse the list.

Method 4: Swap Your Sim Card

To seem to be in another nation, a VPN is often suggested. With TikTok, this doesn’t seem to be possible.

Rather, your SIM region code seems to be used by the app in order to determine what you view. Using a SIM card from a different area of your phone may be an option.

If you want to use TikTok in a certain area, all you have to do is purchase a SIM card from that region and put it in your phone. Except if you have a dual SIM phone, it’s a pain, but if you’re determined, you can do it.

Change Location of TikTok on an Android Phone:

Use a mobile network provider’s Sim card from the destination country.

Navigate to Settings > Applications > TikTok > Storage & Cache > Clear Cache > Clear Storage to remove the temporary files.

Now use your credentials to log in to TikTok and begin using the app.

Change TikTok Country on iPhone:

The instructions are the same for iPhone users; all you have to do is insert a SIM card from the nation you wish to view the Tiktok video from. Instead of erasing all of your app’s data, just clear the cache. You may reinstall the App by deleting it and then installing it again. Now enter your e-mail address, phone number, or username, and password to access your account.

As a computer scientist, that’s all I can say. I’m perplexed as to how TikTok determines a user’s location. Even with location services off and a VPN enabled, I couldn’t find out where it was getting my location without a SIM. This is a question I’d like to put to the TikTok team.

TIKTOK REGION CHANGE NOT WORKING?

When using TikTok, why can’t I select a different region? TikTok doesn’t have a region selection option? As it turns out, TikTok’s most recent upgrade disabled the ability to manually change the region. In addition, this modification was not mentioned in the update log. If you’ve been trying to find a way to switch the region on TikTok but have been unsuccessful, it implies that there is no way to do so in the TikTok app.

As a result, TikTok analyzes your IP Address and Geo-location to determine your present location and then use that information to categorize you into one of several regions within the app.

Because TikTok is illegal in some countries, changing your region on TikTok is out of the question. If you live in one of these countries, you won’t be able to utilize the TikTok region shifting hack.
